Funny, how do you block imports from the US when they are prohibited from doing business with Iran even after the deal is in place, you can't block imports that don't exist.
"The order appears to come from the top",
Either it's an order or it's not which is it?

Its landmark nuclear agreement with the U.S. implemented, Iran is now moving to block American imports. The order appears to come from the top, backed by Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei."Be watchful about irregular imports after lifting sanctions and seriously avoid importing consumer goods from the United States," Khamenei said in a published statement.
"We will implement the blockade on imports of American goods," Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh said, International Business Tribune reports.

Khamenei, as well as hard-liners in the Iranian government, remain deeply suspicious of the United States despite the nuclear deal, and view Western cultural imports as a threat to public morality.
Does this sound like an unreasonable stance to you? Because it doesn't to me.
Considering Khamenei has the questionable intelligence of a 10 year old when he publicly questions the occurrence of the Holocaust, no, he obviously has little to no ability to grasp reality.

Iran's imports from the U.S. reportedly reached $140 million in the first half of 2015, around 60 percent higher than in the same period in 2014. The imports mainly consist of medical devices, food and seeds.
Now that's interesting because there are sanctions in place because of terrorism and they will remain in place for US companies even after the nuclear agreement, I wonder how they get around the US ban.

Is there a credible source for this article. The Examiner is a right-wing propaganda rag that doesn't really count as news, the linked article doesn't even appear to be proof-read.
Maybe it's true, but is anyone else reporting this? Fox even?
This may not be any more true than all the stuff Abraham Lincoln posted on his Facebook Page....
Ha haha ha you mean as opposed to the left-wing mainstream brainwash dribble that we are exposed to 24-7.
So what? Seeing all the hatred towards Iran I would think people would be happy to see no goods from the US go to Iran. Or are you concerned about the American companies that won't reap the benefits?
Was there anything in the agreement mandating that Iran is obligated to trade with the US?? If the US accepts imports from Iran, who's the fool???

He questions the Holocaust to get a rise out of people. That's neither here nor there.
The main thing is that he doesn't want U.S. imports to radically change the social fabric of his country. That may be good or bad, but it's not unreasonable as a concern and he wouldn't be the first leader to have those worries.
The Iranians can't block all U.S. Imports anyway even if they wanted to, so it's futile. They've always screamed about outside influences, but there are more satellite dishes in Iran than flies and the government is powerless to stop it although they're illegal (or they were at one time).
Hell, we've banned Persian Rugs from being imported into this country from Iran which is beyond ridiculous. So we're one to talk.
If it is illegal for US companies to export to Iran by U.S. law, then isnt Iran outlawing imports repetitive ?
Good point.
