I thought part of the recent treaty eliminated some of the restrictions on US companies trying to trade with Iran.
The ayatollah's biggest problem with American and other Western imports is Movies and Television as they do not portray all women as meek and submissive. As that is the key social component of their religion the preachers cannot stand the idea of strong women. It frightens the puritanical preachers.
the Iranian people are not stupid. They will find a way of watching whatever they want and hopefully will realize that all religion is nonsense and stop paying attention to the Ayatollahs.
Khamenei, as well as hard-liners in the Iranian government, remain deeply suspicious of the United States despite the nuclear deal, and view Western cultural imports as a threat to public morality.
Does this sound like an unreasonable stance to you? Because it doesn't to me.
Nope, it makes perfect sense if one understood the social nature of Iran. Which also makes the theory of Khamenei moderating his stance comical after the release of sanctions..
Yep. L, just punishing their own some more. I think the Iranianpeople are ...less than happy...about things like this. If the mullahs didn't have all the guns and fanatics to use them, they might be out of a job, if the general, Iranian , public had their way. Been that way for a while. But, what can they do? The Revolutionary Guard keeps them pretty well weighted down.
The primary import from the middle east I would like the US to block is it's people.
Why we continue to import millions of people from countries and cultures that are in direct conflict to the values of our great country is one of the most head scratching issues I can think of.

It does. The entire time these negotiations were going on Boeing was waiting in the wings (along with Airbus) with contracts to replenish the Iranian air fleet. The White House never said a word about it. Immediately after the deal was signed so were those contracts for new aircraft.
This isn't about the Iranian nuke program. This is about big money and envelopes passed under the table.
A knock off KFC restaurant from Turkey just opened in IRAN , They shut it down in less than 24 hours saying it resembled the american flag .. Why did we negotiate with these fools?
Just when you think the Obama admin cannot be more stupid, they surprise you.
Oh, I didn't know the Obama administration was also running Iran.
What, in particular, do you believe Obama did that was 'stupid' regarding this bluster by Iran?
Do you think every single country in the world should be forced to import American goods?
So what if Iran wants to prohibit US goods from getting into their country? They are only hurting their own people.
Medical devices, food, and seeds; $140 million worth in six months? That's a literal drop in the bucket for the US; too bad for the Iranian people.
