I can't tell you how tired I am of seeing some backwoods knuckle dragger stand up at a candidate's poltical rally or meeting and say something to the effect of ...."what we gun do bout that ther muslim in the white house, that black muslim?....
And the worst part of it is that we Republicans seem to embrace a philosophy of passive tolerance to these idots.... and why? Because they vote Republican? We don't need these uneducated hicks votes!
This plays right in to the Democrats hands every time something like this happens and candidates don't call it out for what it is! McCain is the only one who did the right thing and stood his ground and put the idiot in his audience back in her place. He didn't want to get her vote by being complicit in her ignorance. Every time one of these hillbillies says something like this and it goes unchallenged, it just lends credibility to the Dems false portrayal of all Republicans being beer guzzling rednecks with an 8th grade education.
First Donald Trump failed us in this regard, and now Carly Fiorina. THIS MUST STOP!!! This is not what the Conservative movement is about... If you're one of these people who believe that Obama is "an arab" or a "muslim", and that combined with his "blackness" somehow disqualifies him from being president in "your white, Christian nation"... than go crawl back under your rock and stay there!!!! There is NO place for you in the Conservative movement you anti-freedom, slanderous hypocrite!
So you want to kick out conservatives you don't like or disagree with? That's a losing strategy. Just like McCain is a losers. Republicans can't afford to lose any supporters. You don't see democrats kick out all their dumb, racist supporters do you? No, they embrace black lives matter et al.
Yes, she should have corrected him. Obama is not black, he's mixed race. Still, many Dems make the same mistake.
Obama self identifies as black. He identifies with islam and has criticized christianity. For someone to call him a black muslim, while not pc or civil, is a reasonable suspicion, not dumb and ignorant at all. He's been so divisive he deserves the label.

And you criticize them for it too, don't you? No difference.

The guy meant it in a derrogatory way. He meant it as an insult.
It's one thing to have a substantive debate as to whether Obama is a Muslim or not ( and it doesn't really matter if he is ) but that was not his intent. He was not merely making an observation or stating a fact, he used it as a qualifier for his statement that "Obama doesn;t care where this country is headed" as if being a black muslim meanbs you somehow stand against America by default.
I can't believe people are actually defending racism...

You're absolutely right. Most conservatives are not bigots, but most bigots are conservatives which leads to guilt by association. The Republican Party could make a concerted effort to publicly denounce low information hillbillies, aka teajahdists, aka Freedom Caucus supporters, aka "the base", but then it would have a much harder time winning elections so that's not going to happen.
Look, it is what it is. Before Bill Clinton, Democrats used to have pander to far left kooks to win votes, and it wasn't pretty. If this were the late 80s, I could say most Democrats are not Marxists, but most Marxists are Democrats. Fortunately for us, we had a very successful president who managed to build a large enough coalition to win elections around our center. That's why the Democratic Party of today is the party of adults and the Republican Party has become the kiddie table. It won't be like this forever, I'm sure, but that's how it is for now. For the 2016 presidential election, we're going to nominate a seasoned professional with decades of experience as a senator and secretary of state, and you guys currently have two clowns at the top of the polls while the pros with actual experience and expertise in government (Christie, Kasich, Huckabee, Jindal, even Jeb) are in the single digits.
Simple answer: you can't. They're the conservative movement's base.
That's all there is too it. Your only choice is peaceful coexistence....which is the strategy the GOP has used so far and admittedly, it's worked well for them.

While you may feel this way, if you were to express your 'resonable suspicion' as fact, it would be reasonable of me to be suspicious of your intellect.

That's okay. I question yours and Obama supporters intellect too. How could one express their "suspicion" as fact? It wouldn't be a suspicion then. I question anyone wanting to alienate anyone from their political party.
People have free speech and the right to be classist, ageist, lookist, sexist, racist, nationalist, communist/liberal etc whether Democrat, Republican or Independent. One is not necessarily less valid or worse than the other.
