One of the largest, longest acting groups to argue against the death penalty has been the Catholic Church. They can hardly be described as "progressive".
I have to wonder how people became so myopic that they are only able to see things as left/right, liberal/conservative, (D)/(R).

This is my opinion, which may sound kooky to some. What I post below does not apply to all DP cases.....but it does apply to a LOT.
The Democrat's Stormtroopers do not mind going to prison, living in prison. So if the dirty-work is to be done for the Dems, by their Stormtroopers....it is much more palate if the DP is off the table, Humans have a desire to live.
