Two guys in Texas got a teacher fired because their little girl has no female figure in the family. So the two "guys" have decided to raise her as a boy. So these two guys have this girl confused. Put her in a normal household and watch that confusion vanish. The judge is right in Utah.
It's a non sequitur, you are comparing a case in Texas with a totally different case, with different circumstances, in Texas. That's like saying "a cop got fired for beating up a citizen, therefore all cops should get fired"
I just read in the Washington Post that the judge has reversed his order - the couple will be allowed to keep their adopted child after all. Awesome news!
This goes to show if there's enough of a backlash to a bad call, it'll often get reversed. This is the kind of stuff that makes proud to be an American.
good news. but he should be disbarred. his job is to follow US law, not his personal beliefs or some random research. if he's incapable of doing his job, he needs to go.

By law, it should have been reversed. I'm pretty sure everyone knew this would happen.
Btw, the child had not been adopted by these women and she had only been in foster care with them for three months. Apparently that means that she belonged to them.

The couple were starting the process of adoption. It is a long process most of the time.
A Utah judge has ordered that a foster child being raised by a lesbian couple be taken away and given to a heterosexual couple. There is nothing in Utah law where the sexual preferences of foster parents matters, The judge did this because, he believes, it is better for the child. These strikes me as outrageous. Do conservatives support this kind of judicial activism?
Outrageous that the judge feels this infant should have both a mother and a father?
