It's everything the government does with its funding. By far, the poor have the most access to government services. The rich are locked out of the over $1 trillion spent on means-tested social programs every year.

You're a gem Informed Consent.

In every thread I come across you never crack under cross-examination. But be mindful there is such a thing as the court of public opinion.

Is the public somehow under the impression that the wealthy can access the over $1 trillion spent on means-tested social programs each year? If so, why would that be?

Probably via the same sources that deliberately misinform the public that the top 1% pays a lower effective local, state, and federal tax rate than the middle class. People who are factually informed know better. The top 1% pays an effective total local, state, and federal tax rate of 43%. For the middle class, it's 25%.:

I'm wondering why so many people let themselves be manipulated by agenda-driven LIARS.

The original link does not work anymore. So it appears few are reading the blog/article.

The country is obviously split on this subject.

President Obama won a 2nd presidential election. That says something about majorities opinions.

President George Washington had a problem raising money to run the country. So up comes the Whiskey Tax. And subsequent Whiskey Rebellion. Apparently, people don't like to pay taxes.

Welfare. Revolutionary War veterans were provided a pension for serving in the military.

You're right. So, let's implement a 30% tax on everyone, right across the board.

I'm also sick of the people who don't like to pay taxes.

I assume you would agree upon this?

Is it your claim that veterans did nothing to deserve a pension?

Top 1% pay nearly half of federal income taxes

Top 1% pay nearly half of federal income taxes

You want these people to pay more taxes? are you serious?

Most of these people's children don't even use public schools, why should they be paying other people's kids' college expenses?

As Mother Teresa taught us, charity, if it is real, must cost us. It costs nothing to take from Peter to pay Paul
