I also have traveled all over this country and found that we do have a common, identifying national culture. To deny that is ludicrous.

Like what? What are these common identifying national culture things you have seen when you have traveled all over this country?

Do I feel like a stranger?

Nope.

Is it any wonder that native English speakers feel like they are living in a foreign country? However, I don't care what language one chooses to speak in their own homes.
I can't imagine why it is bothersome to anyone to hear foreign languages in public. Why on earth should I care if a group of people chooses to not speak english to each other? I'm not into eavesdropping, I couldn't care less what strangers are saying to each other.

Nor am I into eavesdropping nor do I care what the topic of their conversations are. You just don't get it, do you? It's about hearing foreign babble everywhere I go and non-assimilation into our society.

Well if you aren't listening to other's conversations, then all languages should sound like babble to you, even English. The only time you should be concerned what language others are speaking is if they are talking to you or you are trying to listen to their conversation. Beyond that, nobody cares that you don't like other people speaking other languages around you.

If you moved to Europe and heard American "babble" from fellow Americans living there, would you be saying the same thing about them? Just curious.

You need to stick to just the immigration forum. All of your posts are nothing but constant anti-immigration & foreigner babble. It's gotten beyond old. Try some variety in your posts.

No, he wouldn't. He'd be speaking English right along with them & he knows it.

English is the business language of the world. However, if an American moves to a foreign country then IMO they should speak the language of the country that they chose to migrate to out in public. I don't hold double standards for Americans.
