right.. When will people just admit that in the drug trade illegal guns is part of it. The less guns sold to shady people the less of them are floating around waiting to fall in the wrong morons hands. Gun shows are were most of these guns are coming from where background checks are not required.

It is not about keeping people from hunting or owning a gun if they want one.

Just another fine example of "We MUST do SOMETHING, even if it will not accomplish ANYTHING!"
I think anybody who proposes any such a law or regulation should be required to post a Bond equal to at least 75% of their net worth guaranteeing that there will never be another of the incidents they propose to prevent. If such an incident does occur after the law or regulation is passed, the bond will be paid to the victims of said incident.

Please keep in mind that in the latest "mass shooting" events, the weapons used were LEGALLY purchased, including the much-touted "BACKGROUND CHECK"!

So you are in favor of going back to the national 55 MPH speed limit?
That would save many more lives than any new gun laws.
How 'bout it? If it could save one life.

Yeah I don't really get how the mass shooting epidemic is related to gun regulation. Gun Regulation is solely based around reducing inner city crime where a vast majority of gun violence happens. Crime rates in NYC and LA dropped drastically. In cities like Chicago, a large majority of criminals are using guns that were bought from out of state.

If one American life can be saved by stopping Islamic immigration, we should do it. How can there be a debate?

You're not really that ignorant, are you? The laws apply exactly the same at gun shows as they do everywhere else.

So you can't bring guns in "from out of state" in NY or CA?

Gun crime is down and sales are up.

So, in the land of the Neo-Confused, any law that doesn't completely stop the behavior it's written about should be eliminated? I guess ya'ed be for eliminating murder laws, eh? They certainly don't stop murder.

Ignorant? Ha

Quote:
Known as the "gun show loophole," most states do not require background checks for firearms purchased at gun shows from private individuals -- federal law only requires licensed dealers to conduct checks.
Under the Gun Control Act of 1968, federal law clearly defined private sellers as anyone who sold no more than four firearms per year. But the 1986 Firearm Owners Protection Act lifted that restriction and loosely defined private sellers as people who do not rely on gun sales as the principal way of obtaining their livelihood.
Some states have opted to go further than federal law by requiring background checks at gun shows for any gun transaction, federal license or not. Five states, most recently Colorado and Connecticut, mandate universal background checks, an even more stringent standard that imposes background checks on almost all gun purchases, including over the Internet.
Even in states that do not require background checks of private vendors, the venue hosting the event may require it as a matter of policy. In other cases, private vendors may opt to have a third-party licensed dealer run a background check even though it may not be required by law.
