You don't even know what a loophole is, so why would you understand how more restrictions effect law abiding citizens?

Why don't you try getting your president to enforce EXISTING laws before screaming for more?

“And to your point, Mr. Baker, regarding the lack of prosecutions on lying on Form 4473s, we simply don’t have the time or manpower to prosecute everybody who lies on a form" - VP Joe Biden

As long as you're not even bothering to do required background checks and followup when people lie adding more laws isn't going to accomplish anything.

How fortunate that this study was conducted in Chicago:
Shocking study: criminals generally don’t buy guns legally at gun shops « Hot Air

Philip J. Cook, Susan T. Parker, and Harold A. Pollack conducted interviews with criminals being held in the Cook County Jail. Their primary findings were that criminals get guns from their “social network,” i.e. friends and persons known to them, but generally not from the various legal sources available to them.

They do not buy guns in gun stores. They do not get guns at gun shows. They do not buy them from Internet sources. The study even found that criminals only rarely steal guns.

Cook and colleagues also found that criminals do not often buy guns on the used market, as they have a fear of buying a gun from a source they do not know. Fear of police stings, or from being turned in by law-abiding gun owners leads them to obtain guns from sources they trust, most often, family, fellow gang members, and other criminals. They also found that criminals do not hold guns for a long period, fearing that a gun could be traced to a specific crime.

The findings were clear. Criminals do not engage in activities that would make them subject to any sort of a "universal" background check requirement or any of the other common proposals put forth by the anti-gun crowd. As usual, this study illustrates that laws and regulations only impact the law-abiding.

Of course the anti gun nuts will continue to push for more laws, more restrictions even when every bit of evidence says they won't accomplish anything towards reducing crime. Hardly a surprise when their real goal is to ban guns not reduce crime.

We are the only developed country who makes it easier for criminals to get guns.

straw purchases

So, what you claim is a "loophole" happens all over the Country on a day to day basis not just at gun shows. Guess what. It's not enforceable. Please explain how you would bust people selling private firearms to people they already know.

LE is already doing everything they can and it's not really helping.

It is funny they reported on it as some kind of smoking gun, pun intended.

from the article What Lewisbey didn’t know at the time was the feds were watching him. Said Ahern of the ATF, “There’s a large number of individuals at gun show that are selling their personal collections and they’re not holding the buyers to any kind of criminal background check or any paperwork of those transactions.”

Plus, how do you track a serial number on a weapon that has none?

Until you learn that there is no gun show "loophole" doing what you ask would be a monumental waste of my time.

Expanded gun control won't do a single thing to prevent them from acquiring firearms. The criminals will still get the guns while law abiding citizens are disarmed and rendered defenseless. Is that what you want?

Background checks are required at every gun show, seriously?
