Yes, both Hillary and Michelle have been vilified unmercifully and undeservedly as First Ladies in a way neither Laura nor Barbara Bush ever were. Seems one side cannot find even a morsel of civility when the other side is occupying the White House.

When you put yourself out there and don't do your job which is to host White House parties, you are going to be bashed for "butting in". They were not elected to anything.

She looked "Stunningly Beautiful".
I thought she looked beautiful. I guess people here, including the moderator, have never heard the term "resting ____ face." Michelle is pretty, but she's got it for sure.

I must restate and say: Thank you again, Mr. President for a wonderful presentation and focus on the future of America.

Sadly many of the comments continue to display the vile mentality of the Right Winger dispositions, it truly is a continuing embarrassment to the American system and the people. Thank goodness a great many readers can see through it, as it has not changed since the very second he won the seat of office. The ingrained disdain for a black face in the office is so deep in so many, they can't hear anything, they can't bear to listen with open minds, and they view with contempt before the speech even began.

This tells a great story of and about the Right Winger Mentality, flat out denial of the mess their beloved Bush created and left, not just in American, but the destabilization of the Middle East, the set up of "ongoing" weapon sellers who continue to use the networks to supply any factions with money. But these are things and many more disastrous things Republican refuse to acknowledge and will deny when facts are laid out before them. They deny the nature and conditions of the job losses, and the housing mess and stood in the ways of more expanded reforms upon banking and Wall Street. They think in terms of "Fight Something", it does not matter what, as long as they can "generate the climate for a fight".
America needs nothing remotely close to Republican System leadership, We have seen OVER AND OVER the mess it makes and the disaster it leaves in its wake. Not since Eisenhower has there ever been a Republican President to do any good and progress for American and ALL its people.
The wise and open minded in American know without a doubt, that America will not conserve the 1950's, nor will this nation re-create it, no matter how much Republican Thirst for Such regressive non functional and violent past of ethnic division and utter madness. It is not something that this nation can nor will stomach.
Republican can refuse to accept that fact and they can take up arms and march around carrying their guns with a heart of contempt and a mentality of fear of not wanting to acknowledge there will be no more "white dominated" system of American leadership and governance!!!!! Therefore this aim to "conserve such" is futile.
They have never been a party of Fiscal Responsibility, EVERY Republican Administration over the past recent decades have left nothing but economic disaster, tax give away to the wealthy, and set up starting with Nixon, the exodus of American Industry, then came GHWB and his New World Order, that ushered the fast pace movenment of Industry from American Shores and the ramped up madness of oil pursuit negative influences in the Middle East until the chaos of such agenda set the stage for a continuation of craziness of funding one side and then doing a policy flip and fund the other side. It's as crazy as Reagan, claiming to support Iraq, and doing business with Iran, to support his Central American War Pursuits.

None of these things do Republican want to acknowledge, nor do they want to acknowledge GBII and his aim to outsource the management of our Ports to Dubai and at the same time trying to covertly privatize SSI and turn that programs funds over the the Wall Street Gamblers.
Nope - No more Republicans is the best scenario for American Prosperity.

The Speech given in this State of the Union Address is forward thinking, progressive for Americans and the Nation; and outlined the goals and roles that this nation can and must undertake to move ahead and stay in the leadership role as a lead nation in a changing world. Every Democrat and Other must get up and vote, to ensure the mentality of American Character moves forth, at no time can this nation afford to sit idle and allow any craziness as that which was done in placing so many republican in our congress.
Not only in Presidential Elections, but in Senatorial and Local elections, Democrats and the wise and progressive minded American must vote.
Thank you again, Mr. President for a wonderful presentation and focus on the future of America.

She was born in this country. Her parents were legal immigrants. Same with Jindahl.

"Over there". Gotta love libs that lambaste those "racist" conservatives, all the while spewing their own.

So true. And they are blind to the grievous mistakes of their own party. You never heard a peep of disagreement from these folks when the idiot frat boy from Texas oversaw his disastrous war in Iraq and the Great Recession he created. Pres. Obama has largely repaired most of the wreckage he inherited.

History, as well as thinking people everywhere, will judge on how successful he has been.

President Bush won the war in Iraq. Barry squandered away the peace and allowed the US to lose all its gains. It was Joe Biden who failed to negotiate a "status of forces" agreement with Iraq to remain and keep the peace. Now Barry wants to put Biden in charge of "curing cancer". We will all probably get cancer now.

The Democratic Party was responsible for the so-called "Great Recession". It did not start until THEY took over the Congress.

Thank you for supporting Ben Carson, Herman Cain, and Alan Keyes.

Oh, let me guess, they were Uncle Toms.
