Oil will gradually become harder (more expensive) to extract.

if you believe that planet earth has certain radius. and oil formation can not happen on layers such as the mantle.
then you are automatically bound to have very finite amount of of this stuff.

as technology improve we get access to some more of it. but it does not mean the price of access to that oil is not going to increase.

very simple concepts people difficulty understanding.
