Children 0-11 killed or injured by firearms - 693
Teens 12-17 killed or injured by firearms - 2685
Accidental shootings - 1942
Most of these cases were not about violence, they are about people who cannot manage their firearms.
If you cannot control your guns, you have no business owning them.
The first one alone should be enough to justify trying to do SOMETHING.
There's the leftist response "do SOMETHING", even if it's something stupid, proven not to accomplish anything and violates the constitution. As long as you can feel good about "doing something" it's Ok. Firearms about just about the LEAST likely thing to injure or kill a child, but "do something" and feel good about yourself.
Or look at the complete report: http://www.cdc.gov/safechild/images/...hoodInjury.pdf
Firearms are either last or such a small number they're lumped in with "other causes". Dog bites are 500 TIMES more likely to injure a child than a firearm, where is your concern about dogs? If you really wanted to prevent injury and save lives guns are just about the last thing you should focus on, but we know it won't be, that doesn't fit the agenda.
proper gun control is how straight you shoot. if you have proper gun control, you are more likely to hit the target rather than some innocent bystander.

If you care to research it, you will find that the teens 12-17 demographic is mainly gang and drug war violence.
Because you said these stats are not about violence, and that would be untrue.
