I think the women came along willingly......marriage was honored, may not have been by all. Many men took care of their women.

Shouldn't these people stay and fight for there rights? They are men aren't they and that is their country? You are the first to speak against us invading the land, but seem to support grown men leaving it...........then asking US soldiers to fight it.

One talked about his children's school being bombed twice. Often the decision to leave only came when a bomb fell on the street where the family lived. At that point, the parents grabbed their children and a few belongings and fled. One family recounted rushing to the family's car only to find it covered in rubble from the bombing and unusable.

Edited to add: One 11-year old boy was walking home from school when a government tank saw him and ran over him just for kicks. The boy and his family are in Canada now. He has an artificial leg.

Well that one sad story to be told.
What about the ret of fighting age single men leaving en masse?

I haven't a clue. The only stories I've read here are about the Syria refugees coming to Canada. They are all part of family groups (often 6+ which makes finding cheap housing a challenge) or single gays. The earliest arrivals were privately sponsored and included hundreds of Armenian Christians. Now most arriving are government sponsored and probably mostly Muslim who have been living in Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey for years, NOT Europe.

They also don't want us there. Americans don't want us there. This is their country. Should they just all move to the USA? I am sure we can make billions of jobs, free housing, education & healthcare for all those willing to get on the ship. Is this a great plan?

What happens when Africa decides to explode, bring them here?

The OP was asking from behind his comfy keyboard why they weren't stopping and fighting.
Just pointing out that a lot of them are - and some are deciding to take a chance and go elsewhere

Why should they do what your ancestors didn't do?

Ignorant of history, are you? Now Europeans are guilty of not being war like. That's a first.
