Many Euros were not too happy about the concept of a EU so no surprise.

They worried that europe would become the 'united states of Europe' and with it the capability and responsibility to respond to local issues requiring military force. It would be an end to their form of socialism and remove their excuse to get the good old USA involved in local affairs...because they were tiny countries without effective military forces.

The Schengen Agreement might be under evaluation, but the EU will not die. The idea itself is completely impossible.

I have to laugh at that as well. The EU will never die. The EU is the best thing that ever happened to Europe. Just look at Asia to see a neighborhood where there is tension and constant saber rattling. Japan would love to have something like the EU in Asia. Just look at the relationship between France and Germany and compare it to the relationship between Japan and China.

Am I the only one that finds it strange that Europe wants nothing to do with God, but wants everything to do with muslims? Is this a formula for success?!

I don't understand this line of thinking. Wanting to help people who are in distress doesn't equate with supporting every facet of their belief system, or with holding some secret desire to take on their culture.

Agreed. The EU is not going anywhere.

Nor should it.

They might want to modify some of their more...idealistic policies.

A better comparison would be looking at Germany and Greece...not quite as hostile, but certainly not friendly. The eastern Europeans, even members of the EU, are becoming more and more hostile towards western Europeans because the EU is not a democratic system (the people have no say) and the West tries to hoist its ideas on smaller, poorer nations where things work differently.

In distress? The Kurds are in distress--have been for centuries--but are fighting for their homeland, which the EU doesn't want to recognize. Syrians? They're running away like cowards and bringing their backwards barbarism to Europe. And the foolish western Europeans welcome them in, cover up their crimes against women and gays, join them in their anti-Semitism, and even a German city is considering a woman-only tram line so as not to offend the devout Muslim immigrants. So yes, they do seem to have some strange desire to capitulate to the Muslims.

No, not "help" them. Invite them to live in their countries as permanent residents in such overwhelming numbers that they permanently alter the cultures and societies of their hosts, and not for the better. You are using language as a weapon when you frame that as merely "wanting to help". Your non violent contribution to jihad.

Then those Eastern Europeans shouldn't demand hand outs from Western Europe. Seems to me that Eastern Europeans want to make their cake and eat it to. The relationship between Greece and Germany could be better, but nothing on the scale of South East Asia. Nobody says the EU is perfect, but there is no better solution to solve problems than constantly talking to each other.
