"The saga is now being dramatised in a one-off comedy special for Sky Arts, called Elizabeth, Michael & Marlon, starring Joseph Fiennes as Jackson, Stockard Channing as Taylor and Brian Cox as Brando."
Brian Cox is a skinny Scotsman playing tubbo Brando in a movie made by a British cable channel. Outrage! Umbrage!

“Because we aren’t whitewashed enough in Hollywood, apparently,”
“They seriously couldn’t find a black actor to play Michael Jackson?,” tweeted DeRay Mckesson, an American civil rights activist and leader in the “Black Lives Matter” movement.

Not "Hollywood", not American. British.
It sounds like a parody or a spoof. As such, having a white guy play Jackson is probably part of the jest. Jackson did turn quite pasty by the end of his life. Sounds like it could be funny.
You’ll never believe who’s playing Michael Jackson in a new movie
Considering how unusual and unique Michael Jackson was, I see nothing unusual about a white guy cast in this role. Besides, towards the end of his life, Michael Jackson was whiter than he was black. Too bad Gary Coleman isn't around because then he could have played MJ during his Jackson 5 days in the flashback scenes in the movie.
With that said, to adequately prepare for the role, that white guy is going to have to under the knife...
Michael Jackson spent years and millions of dollars trying to turn "White".
He'd be rolling in his grave if a Black actor played him.
Hmmm, hadn't thought of it this way. As long as the dude can "moonwalk!"
I won't be watching it, I don't think anyone could actually fill Jackson's dancing shoes.
