I highly doubt you'd even be here today without having some form of a support network growing up. Yes, that includes your parents or guardians.
Being only 3% of the population, the odds are not good for them finding that support. Unlike I, they will have to seek out and scour the landscape, instead of just going next door.
Then parents should be informed of all counseling requests, not just those relating to sexuality. Because this bill will essentially force any teens seeking counseling for LGBT issues to reveal their sexual orientation to their parents, which may not be in the teens' best interest.
Then it would behoove them to put it back in the closet, until they can support themselves and their lifestyle.
And if the teens don't feel they can go to their parents? Sucks to be them, I guess. The fact of the matter is, there is a system for counseling and referrals already in place, and HB 1599 doesn't suggest to do away with that. Just the bit that has to do with sexuality. Because Sally Kern has an untreated psychosis about gay people.
Well the facts are a Counselor is probably not qualified to be speaking to a suicidal person but if that is all you have then I don't see why Gay would even be an issue when talking to a counselor. what we really need here is an psychiatrist and probably a mental institution.

That's a referral. Which is what the bill specifically forbids in cases having to do with sexuality. Nothing else. Only sexuality. One specific group of troubled youth can't be referred to people who might help them, because of the gays.
Sounds like a stupid bill. No way federal courts would let it survive for long.
did you read it? it doesn't say what the thread title claims.
it does say the parents have to be notified of the counseling referral in advance. that's about it.
and it doesn't say a dang thing about L, G, B, or T
