Typical Republican crap, Scalia dies with 10 months left of the Obama Administration and in their minds it's the next presidents (hopefully a Republican) job to nominate a replacement. They are all about defending the Constitution when it works in their favor, when it doesn't it becomes all about blocking and obstructing the Constitutional process.
Although I agree it is carp, please don't pretend that the Democrats would behave any differently if the shoe were on the other foot.
They should have waited a year, 'for the next president'.
Well it's about time.
" With little fanfare, the United States’ federal judiciary has started coming apart at the seams, particularly in judicial districts represented by at least one Republican senator. That’s no coincidence. Motivated by a desire both to make President Obama look bad and to delay any judicial appointments until there’s (possibly) a Republican in the White House, GOP senators have thrown obstruction after obstruction in front of the judicial appointment process. As a result, the Republican-controlled Senate has confirmed only six federal judges in 2015. " https://www.washingtonpost.com/opini...f65_story.html
That's odd, this article indicates she was approved in May 2014 yet your article states this month.
Diane Humetewa, Confirmed to Federal Bench, Makes History Rob Capriccioso
5/15/14
The Senate voted unanimously May 14 to confirm Diane Humetewa to become a judge for the U.S. District Court for Arizona, making her the first Native American woman federal judge in U.S. history and the third Native American to ever hold such a position.
Pretty crazy stuff, glad he isn't a senator anymore. The Heritage Foundation or the Malheur Refuge is the right place for the delusional.
“If there’s any move within the Senate to consider a confirmation this year,” warned former Republican Senator Jim DeMint, “I think you would see outright rebellion from all across America.” DeMint heads the Heritage Foundation, which under his leadership has become chief enforcer of conservative discipline.
If a Republican senator votes to confirm an Obama nominee — or votes even to allow a Senate vote on confirmation — the senator is virtually guaranteed a conservative primary opponent. If the senator refuses to confirm, however, then he or she becomes instantly vulnerable to the charge of obstructionism. That could be a serious problem for Republicans up for re-election in Obama states this year, including such blue states as Illinois, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin."
The Republicans are throwing their typical temper tantrum but they know that they can't just refuse to even consider the nomination of a Supreme Court justice for the next 11 months. This is just more of the typical teapublican stompy foot political theater that most of the country got sick of long ago. Scalia is dead and a Democrat is President, that is reality. Conservatives that actually think they are going to get a hardcore conservative as a replacement are delusional. Picking Caribou Barbie to run as VP is not looking so good right about now.

It's real b..ch when one side does what the other side has done before, isn't it?
Which includes keeping the second amendment as an individual right and protecting religious freedom. These rights will be gone with another liberal judge.
I have no problem with Obama nominating someone. I have no problem with the Senate not voting on him or her either.

Remind me again? When was it that the Democratic establishment announced unanimously that they were going to refuse to perform their Constitutionally-defined duties?
The average low info Dem voter doesn't even know what the Supreme Court is, why would they care? If anything it will motivate the GOP base as we're one more left wing puppet away from seeing the 2nd amendment, and who knows what else, practically torn out of the constitution.
... where the top drug kingpins are tried? or the big games are played?

Ah! She was confirmed to a Federal District Court in Arizona in May 2014. Today, to the District Court of D.C.
