Hey OP, what do you do and how much do you make? Should you make more or less?

Is an actor or an athlete really worth the money they bring in?

They're all paid what someone is willing to pay them.
The market will not pay what someone is worth, that's the problem. That is, if 'someone' is a regular employee.

Me: Hey Larry, Sergey. There's a guy on city-data that knows how to run your business better than you and your CEO. His name is J.Thomas and he can fix your "broken system". I think he'll be happy with just $100 million per year.

Google founders: (sounds of hysterical laughter)

And he become CEO in August so it's not even a year.

Now i'm not saying he should get $1M or so but whatever he's doing is it really worth this vast amount??

I know Google employees are also making good but they are probably on average at $100K range.

So he's paid like 2000x

What an unbelievable system.

I wonder how much tax he's gonna pay.

Probably not much

I guess on a 4 or 5 year tenure he'll be a billionaire.

And here we are talking about manufacturing and unemployment.

This is a broken system i'm afraid.

We can argue all day but i don't see light at the end of the tunnel
Google is not healthcare. So I don't care if he makes 10 trillion dollars. There is also the possibility this guy has some talent.

Yeah that would be good actually.

They can also give some more to their low and mid grade employees

And doing some community work and helping struggling people in SF Bay area.

Unfortunately for you and your totalitarian collectivist ilk, people still have the choice whether or not to do those things.

I have no interest to run Google.

I'll start my own company.

American companies are beyond fixing i'm afraid.

Yeah let's get a CEO and he can cut costs and offshore our business to 3rd world and we can pay him $200M.

No thanks

What 'system' are you referring to. They can pay him anything they want.

It is disappointing to see they did not give the job to an American, but that too is their choice.
