Looks like Obama will close the Guantanamo Bay Detention Facility. They're talking about sending the prisoners back to the Middle East. That sounds like a bad idea when you consider how many of the previously released detainees returned to terrorism.
Terrorist have a hatred for America and the absence of torture will not change their attitude. Guantanamo bay should stay open because, regardless of what goes on there, it is safer for the average American to facilitate these detainees at Guantanamo bay prison, but the torture should not be allowed.
I wish I had $5 for everytime he has promised to close it. It's too bad he won't close it the right way.......by ending the war.
Congress doesn't want it closed and has done everything to obstruct any efforts. Three detainees were released this past week, very soon they will be down to around 60 and you have to wonder if they will still keep it open at a cost of several million per detainees.
One of the 3 released was approved for release almost a decade ago but Obama is doing the best he can under the circumstances
