That's what globalization does. These multinational corporations held by multinational shareholders don't care about the workers in said country. They will just move on to the next and do the same thing.

there is seriously something wrong with the way CEO's and executive management teams are compensated.
In this obamunist regime the answer would be he deserved the bonus because otherwise, the company would have lost 50,000 jobs.

He more likely got his bonus because it was based on very specific goals which he met.

Most likely protecting quarterly profits by laying off thousands of worker. As for what happens next quarter... Don't care, bonus acquired!

Schlumberger is a French company.

The shareholders vote to approve CEO compensation under federal law for publicly traded corporations.

It isn't the fault of the CEO that OPEC is producing oil to meet Market Demand, or that the US governments' oil consumption projections were bad.

Aside from that, this is just another Penis Envy thread.

You know, if you people would spend half as much time trying to better yourselves, instead of coveting what others have, or ranting about it on the internet, you might actually get a decent job that pays well.

CEOs who do this are not job creators, they are exploiters of laborers and companies.

No CEO should be a job creator. Their job is to drive profits, and jobs are sometimes a side effect..but should never ever be the goal.

If 25,000 lost their jobs and that resulted in a savings by the company of about $18 million in what would have been an employer required part of health insurance, then the $18 million was just redirected to the CEO.

Nobody owes anyone a job.

Yeah sure, let's continue to allow these parasitic entities turn once proud nations into destitution and debt slavery.

Who needs jobs when 62 trans-national people are wealthier than half the world? Let's make it 50!
Richest 62 people as wealthy as half of world's population, says Oxfam | Business | The Guardian

Who needs countries or national borders when of the 100 largest economies in the World there are now more nationless corporations than whole nations of people?

Who needs money when since 2009, when Trillions in made up money was created by the Fed, all income gains have gone to less than 1% of the population and the wages for over 90% of Americans have been in stagnation or decline the past 30 years?

Maybe we can get Apple to build some factories where Americans can work for a meager wage with "food" and apartments provided. Of course they'll have to build safety nets on the windows to prevent workers from killing themselves. I mean, as long as Apple is profitable, right? Beautiful vision.
