So I guess that was the moment Boris Yeltsin realized the Russia would be better off as a Mafia-controlled oligarchy that would end up with an ex-KGB thug fond of dispatching his opponents with poison as leader. Yay capitalism!
Ya' really connected the dots on that one, didn't ya'
I hope America never gets this way but as Hillary says, "elections have consequences." I am no Hillary fan either but Sanders seems to like this kind of government.
Go Ted Cruz.
Liberals do not read; if they do, they read history that has been "modified" to suit their agenda.
Liberals truely believe that socialism/communism (which has failed everywhere else) will somehow be just fine in the US.
I do not need to thrust my hand into a bonfire to understand that it would be terribly burned. A liberal, on the other hand................

No, I got the point...I'm not sure if you got the point of my jokes though. Most of the population of Russia is screwed either way, it doesn't matter if a Czar, communist party, drunk-on-vodka bureaucrat, or KGB thug is in charge. It's a corrupt place where power and money will always be concentrated by a few at the top and the rest are wasting in way in a cloud of vodka. The irony is that by 1996, Russians hated Yeltsin for presiding over the mess that was post-USSR Russia and plenty would've been happy to go back to communism. It took oil money and the militarism of Putin to bring Russia back to some level of stability, though with oil prices low, that's all at risk of collapsing too.
Russia's problem was and is authoritarianism and corruption.

There are Oligarchies, Monarchies, Dictatorships, Democracies that have capitalist economic systems.
Pointing to an oppressive Oligarchy (political system) and saying "Yay Capitalism"?

Um, not following your logic.
The ending line in my post was from a comedic film in the 90s in reference to the breakup of the USSR. The rest of my posts was just an excuse to rip on Russia. Yes, I mentioned multiple times that Russia was an oligarchy.
Was this supposed to be a serious thread to begin with? The OP used the phrase "sucks monkeyballs" in the header...
