Well, they love one specific interpretation of the constitution.

And they love family values, provided your family is either evangelical Christian, or your family has a net worth of a billion dollars.

And they love patriotism because they were raised as good little nationalists who recited the pledge of allegiance every morning in school.

So yes, it's a really weird frankenstein of ideas that were cobbled together throughout the 1980's and 1990's, and manifest itself through things like (A) the moral majority , (B) the prosperity gospel, (C) the tea party, and (D) the southern strategy.

The general idea was to assemble a group of voters who would be willing to vote against their own interests, by linking together very specific interpretations of morality, debt, economics, race, and religion under the existing framework of traditional protestant values.

there was also heavy debate about what the constitution should include and not include.

Conservatives see the Constitution as an unchanging standard under which our Government should run. There are mechanisms in place to alter our Constitution, but they are purposefully made difficult, so that our Constitution remains fundamentally unchanged and solid.

Progressive love our Constitution, too, but they see it as a "living" document that must change with the times. They believe that the Founders did a good job, for their time, but they could not see into the future and how much our culture has changed and how important it is for the Constitution to reflect modern society.

Conservatives believe that the very foundation and power of society comes from the individual and then the family structure, and then the community and upwards. Conservatives believe that the role of the government is to ensure that all citizens are treated equally under the law and that all citizens have equal access to the tools necessary for them to ensure life, liberty and their pursuit of happiness.

Liberals/Progressives believe that we need a strong government above everyone to make sure that every citizen is ensured an equal outcome and that it is not the responsibility of the individual to pursue happiness, but the responsibility of the community and the government to regulate and manipulate laws and society, so that all citizens have the same "piece of the pie." IMO
very well said!

Funny, I'm a conservative, but I am neither a Christian, nor a billionaire. In fact, I am firmly middle class and likely always will be. I am not a Nationalist, as that is what Nazi's were.

You need to study some actual history instead of relying on the fabricated and skewed information you seem to have bought into.

You also sound bitter. I'm sorry if that bitterness has developed as a result of your indoctrination, but everything in your post is wrong and can be debunked by facts that are available if you are willing to do research with an open mind.

The word you're looking for is Projection. It's when you assign your own faults and failings onto others while talking up how you adore the things at which you fail.

So, the people most likely to want to control the actions of others and restrict speech love the Constitution. The people statistically most likely to divorce and have teenage pregnancies love family values and the party most likely to start senseless non-defensive wars of profit love patriotism and wrap themselves in the flag while doing so.

Number 1, it is generally depicted as a negative by a liberal dominated media to embrace traditionalist views.

Number 2, the Democrats make no effort to hide their collective disregard for the Constitution, and laws of our land which is why you have Clinton the criminal, and Sanders the Socialist as the two choices to continue the destruction of America.

Number 3, it should be obvious why this distinction is made. Because IT'S FREAKING TRUE. Who is it that wants to deny freedom of religious expression (except for Islam) contrary to the First Amendment? Who is it that wants to squash freedom of speech, contrary to that same Amendment? Who is that wants to ban firearms, in direct violation be of the Second Amendment? STATIST, AUTHORITARIAN, SOCIALIST-COMMUNIST DEMOCRATS.

THE END. MYSTERY SOLVED.
