If they had to choose between getting rid of Hamilton or Jackson from our currency, I think they made the right decision, given Hamilton's role in establishing the U.S. Treasury in the first place. Overall, I think that Hamilton's role is under appreciated, and Jackson probably a little overblown. Jackson's an important historical figure, albeit a controversial one, as seen through the prism of today. I'm not a fan of Andy historically, but I'm not sure how I feel on this.
Poor Andy Jackson just wasn't politically correct enough I guess. Although he was without a doubt the most fiscally responsible POTUS we've ever had or will ever have.
So who are they going to put on the $20 now? There's really no women that are historically important enough in American history to put on one of our main bills.
They should have left Andy, but if they had to change it, I suppose Jefferson would be fine since the 2$ bill is barely in circulation. I would be fine with Teddy as well.

I am glad this is coming down as I preferred. Hamilton I have worshiped as a Founding Father of central banking and felt he should stay on the currency. Jackson the devil incarnate for trying to rid us of central banking and then causing the banking and economic crisis of 1837. Fiscal responsibility lead astray, and not necessarily in the best interests of the country.
I don't much like either Hamilton or Jackson, I'd be fine if they were both replaced. (If you can speak of liking or not liking someone who's been dead for well over a century.)
Also, I think it's time to review the whole "money has pictures of emperors/dictators/generals" trope. There's a lot more to any nation than who the official leaders are.
They like Hamilton because he was a Federalist who helped
advance the first, short-lived National Bank.
They hate Jackson because he stopped the National Bank from
being resurrected.
They = the Federal Reserve.
