I understand that young people, for many, many years, have needed to have some slack cut. And I have joined in cutting that slack. I could think back to my own younger days and say, "geez, I really didn't know half as much as I thought I did". And that realization helped me to cut teens and 20-somethings a lot of slack. It's simply not fair to expect them to be as wise as people much older than them.

But holy cow. This current crop of younger people (let's just say those under 30 or 35) are a sight to behold. The conscious decision by our educational system and its ideological masters to keep young people in ignorance has born fruit. Smashingly. The level of ignorance among younger people is simply astounding. It goes waaaaay beyond the historical patterns as mentioned above.

I don't know the answer to having so many young sheeple, but if one is not found, we are so screwed.

I was born in 1985

I believe the levels of intelligence can’t get evaluated precisely.

Naiveté is about rejecting stupid definitions of maturity. It’s about brushing aside rules that no longer make any sense (if they ever did). Naive does not mean stupid.

well said lily. a lack of education does not translate into stupidity. just because one graduates high school or college, does not mean they stop learning. i have learned a lot since i graduated high school in 1976, and on a variety of subjects. the youth of this nation will do the same, in time.

I agree. I have two useless degrees, I think a lot of people without these degrees are much smarter than I am.

I am not at all sure what you are saying here. I do agree with the link between naivete and ignorance; they go hand in hand.
The naivete of today's young people is astounding. They are totally resistant to the idea that their educational and cultural masters/mentors just might have been using them as pawns (and maybe still are). It's as if Pink Floyd never did "The Wall" at all. Or Orwell never wrote a thing ("Who??"......sigh.....back to the ignorance....)

Are you serious??? (On both scores).
Just don't post on this thread then, if you're so antipathetic towards it!! (Say, YOU aren't under 30.......are you??>.........)

You are not sure what I am saying here? It is pretty simple, in my opinion.
