I'm all for allowing people to express their views....so a black with clenched fists or whites with KKK and nazi symbols are fine.

Is that supposed to mean "Black Power"? If it does, and they are allowed to stay at West Point, then presumably a "White Power" expression is also acceptable... right?

To me it seemed like they were trying to go for a symbol of unity among themselves. Maybe it looked a little goofy or was misconstrued and was even probably a little antiquated and showed insecurity. You're part of a larger group in the military, you're supposed to leave that baggage behind you and form ranks with everybody around you. Especially in that elite military school. A couple weekends on extra KP and latrine detail should be enough for them.
If a bunch of southern cadets held up a picture of Robert E Lee as a group, the punishment should be the same, no more, no less.

Have different political views? Not a problem

Showing that in a military academy? Well, deal with the consequences. It is really that simple.

I am all for KKK or black panther tattoo, go for it. Freedom of speech & expression, but don't cry discrimination if military kicks you out.

Maybe they're big fans of WWE wrestler Chris Jericho.

Don't compare the Black Panthers with the KKK.

THAT is telling of racial bias.

My "black" fist is raised right now.

You don't want to mess around with the military. What happen if the Military top dogs don't take orders from civilian President. Think about it.
