Agreed. And no apology was made, so all is well in that respect.

No apology was made, insane people with an obsession that boarders on mental instability with hating Obama. So let's just set that aside.

As for disarming nuclear weapons, I'm of the insane idea that the use of a nuclear bomb in the modern world (no comment on what happened in WWII for now) is an act of pure evil that makes the Nazis and ISIS looks like heroes. Knowing what we know now and the technology we have, the use of a nuclear weapon is completely unacceptable, and we should be doing a lot of prevent them from existing.

On one end, I do see a reason why we should have them. If, say, Iran gets one and they're the only ones with them, I could see a possible problem arising. However, I also see a problem of them using one, then us using one, the then a cycle of back and fourth continues until the world has been devastated. And yes, the use of several atomic bombs does affect the entire world and not just the countries hit. This is precisely why nuclear weapons are a very bad thing.

Since so many of you on this thread retroactively wish that we'd destroyed Japan even more, why aren't you advocating that the United States removes all troops from Japan and stop subsidizing Japan's defense?

Huh? Do tell!

That is the estimate of deaths from all war-related causes including famine and disease. The number killed directly by the Japanese is far smaller.

I'm not making an argument.

I'm stating a fact.

Obama is a traitor and a disgrace.

We have nothing to apologize for with regards to Fat Man and Little Boy.
Exactly.

They are lucky that we only used two bombs on them.

And we never prosecuted a lot of their war criminals -- including the emperor and the monsters of Unit 731

We aren't there because we love the Japanese.

We are there to maintain our hegemony over the Western Pacific, which enables us to keep trade flowing in that region and block China and North Korea from attacking more of their neighbors.

This "Japan is our great ally" stuff is just too funny!

The Japanese are extremely racist and xenophobic and wouldn't give you the time of day if they couldn't get money out of you.

Sounds like your theory of Japan is based on stories you heard from someone who was once stationed there, lived on a base, and never encountered ordinary Japanese people except in hostess bars.

If you want to live in a society that rejects racial diversity, immigration and multiculturalism, you couldn't do better than to live in Japan.

Not that they would ever accept you, unless you yourself were Japanese, were born there, and lived there all your life.

If you want to be a tourist there, you're more than welcome. Just bring money.

Well, I'll keep that in mind if I ever decide to go... uh... here?

I call him a traitor on forums and in conversations with others. He believes in diminishing the U.S. to the point where it is an equal among nations. That is not advocating the position of a country he is sworn to lead.
