Simple question..Do you dislike being around cigarette smokers, or people who drink? Which type is more polite or considerate around people who dont smoke/drink?

I don't like being around people smoking. And I don't like being around drunks. And Drunk Smokers are probably the worst.
But my Dad was a smoker and a Drunk, and as long as he was sober and not smoking, he was OK.

Unless the person that is an alcoholic, has an attitude problem while drunk, or does dangerous things, then it's the smoker that's most irritating. Second hand smoke can be a death sentence.

Both affect the health of themselves and others, both are undesirable or objectionable when in a group of others people.

What irritates you more: Smokers, or alcoholics?

Neither is a spectator sport...if you're not participating you're not amused.

Smoking the worst, encourages asthmatic attacks and other respiratory problems. Drunks I avoid, social drinking I'm fine with. It's the drinking obnoxious out of control person that's to be avoided.

Actually, it can be quite amusing sitting around watching all of the non smokers judge all of us smokers.
Personally, I cannot and will not be around anyone who is drunk. I don't care if you drink but once you are obviously drunk it is time for me to exit.

I hate self-righteous non-smokers or ex-smokers more than I dislike smokers or alcoholics. And I say this as someone who used to smoke. I can't stand the smug, arrogant attitude from those who never did, or finally quit and then want to jump on the bandwagon of how great they are that they quit. Shut up.

Second place would be alcoholics. I've had more troubles with a bunch of lushes, "have to drink" (even had a roommate at one point who scheduled her drinking along with everything else in her day planner), than I've ever had with a smoker.

Your subject line says alcoholic but your post only mentions drinking.

I detest cigarette smoke and find most smokers to be inconsiderate around non-smokers - and/or still stinky.
Cigarette smoking may be curbed more than a decade ago but it's still more prevalent publicly and near workplaces than drinking is. So since I'm exposed to it more, that's another reason I dislike it more.

People who drink aren't all drunk or alcoholics. I have no issue being around people who drink - unless they are going to drink and drive. I have little issue being around people who are drunk because it's usually easy enough to change locations. Alcoholics are master manipulators so are likely to be the most polite and considerate - until they aren't.

Wink .

I dislike being around:

1: Smokers
2: Drunks
3: Texting while in public (or driving)
4: People who are looking to (or starting to) pick a fight over nothing.
5: Dog owners who don’t pickup after their dog when walking them.
6: People who are always right no matter what the issue is.
7: People who make a list all of the problems of others.

Spoiler
Life would be pretty dull without some of these people however, so I enjoy all types of others; they keep life interesting!
