The American media devotes one half hour a night to what is happening around the United States and the World. Or so we thought.

A couple of weeks ago the USA was in the crisis of 2016. The potty crisis. Every night on both the local and national news we were told how people don't want women with penises to use women's rooms. Is this really that important?

Meanwhile, two percent of the population of France has taken to the streets in protest over an abrupt change in the labor laws. The French people have a 35 hour work week. Now there are to be exceptions. That's worth fighting for and they are. In the initial clash two dozen French cops were injured. The new change in the labor law allows greater use of layoffs as a tool to make the next quarter more profitable.

The American media hasn't breathed a word about this. They're too busy reporting about potty laws.

If you're talking about national network "nightly news," it looks to me like a platform to sell drugs.

The stories they run are overwhelmingly biased towards "Your health," and perceived risks. Then they run a series of advertisements trying to sell products that ostensibly improve "your health."

Yeah mass media conglomerates don't exactly want to promote labor agitation.

I rather suffer from the disease than those awful side affects these drugs cause...
The names of these drugs sound like a migrant family "Chantix grab your brothers Entresto and Toujeo hands but be careful not to squeeze to hard or you could break out in hives suffer from bouts of depression, headache high blood pressure being nauseous and insanity may result...

Don't get me wrong, I don't disagree with your conclusion, but in fairness, most Americans won't see the relevance of French labor laws to their lives. You and I, and any other thoughtful people, do care at least some about what's happening in the world, but to the average America, Target's bathroom policy does effect them more than French labor laws. However, what's in Hillary Clinton's emails, the violence done by Bernie Sanders supporters, and the newest load of **** Trump tried to pass as anything other than **** is also more important than where I can pee at a Target.

So not disagreeing, just giving your argument a slightly different direction.

Not denying that. But if you have access to cable search around you will find a network which is catering to your ideas. Amazing how many different ways /slants "news" can be reported.
