It is b/c liberals view interactions/relations as oppressor vs. oppressed and side with the oppressed against the oppressor. They see the US (and Israel) as the oppressor of the oppressed Muslims. Same thing when Kate Steinle or anyone else is killed by illegals -- it's America's fault, since we're a racist oppressive nation that hates minorities and immigrants. Democrats actually apologized for using 'illegal' as in 'illegal immigrant/alien' and have promised to say 'undocumented immigrant' or 'undocumented worker' instead.
This is about as low as it gets with a major political party treating illegal immigrants and radical Muslims better than its veterans and most productive citizens, but it comes as no surprise. Why should they change when they're likely to win the Presidency again?
Israel has strict gun laws related to civilians and two terrorists were still able to get machine guns, walk into a cafe and start shooting people. If gun control doesn't work in Israel, why would one think it would work in the US?
