So why is that everytime a worthless muslim (sorry for the double adjective) commits an act of terrorism we have another worthless muslim group on TV condemning it. Yet you never hear them condemn Sharia law. You simply cannot be a citizen of this country and support Sharia law. Trump is right.
A group of Muslims scholars sent a letter of condemnation right to the leader (former, I should say; he's dead now) siting that his views and actions are in direct conflict with Sharia law and tenants of Islam.
Hasan Mahmud is an Islamic scholar, an expert on Sharia law, and a member of various Muslim groups in North America. He opposes Sharia law and believes it to be inconsistent with modern values. He is still a practicing Muslim.
This is just a friendly reminder that something not getting coverage or people not wanting to put themselves in front of a camera does not mean it isn't happening. The world doesn't stop at what CNN tells you. Feel free to insert your favorite media outlet for CNN.
Islam is using a vulnerability in our rules regarding religion to commit crimes and institute their rules... sort of like what computer hackers do to infect and take over a computer.
With their spoken intent, and their criminal history - they should not be regarded as a religion. They should not be afforded the benefits and protections of being a religion.
Christians don't go around on a worldwide killing spree. Buddhists don't... Hindus don't... these people do.
It may seem un-American - but so is Sharia law... so is mass murder on our soil. The pendulum needs to swing in the other direction.

What do you mean by sharia law?
If you mean stoning people for extramarital sex, let me reassure you. It's illegal in the US and will continue to be so, and lots of muslims are grateful, not to mention the overwhelming majority of americans.
If you mean writing your will according to islamic (or christian or hindu or jewish) principles, you can indeed do that and still be well within the limits of existing american law.

it doesn't stop the ideology. that's the whole point of this thread.

I don't know how you stop any ideology. IME, they stand or fall on their own merits, they can't be stopped by an outside force.
But I will say that terrified screaming that "sharia is evil" without understanding that sharia law includes some pretty unobjectionable provisions doesn't help.
It makes more sense to me to focus on the specific ideas that we don't accept - government-enforced puritanism, sexism, and religion. Berating people for writing legally acceptable wills that also comport with their religion is just plain silly. And just like you, your average muslim is far more likely to be concerned about his/her will than about being in danger of capital punishment.
Also, sharia law is not a single concept. It differs from sect to sect, commentator to commentator and country to country.

pretty sure that sharia law would horrify most people in the west.
why do you make excuses for this? I don't get this rushing to the defense of sharia law.
Sharia law doesn't tell folks to massacre random people. Otherwise it would have been the norm for the last 1400 years. Yet you can interpret it any way you choose. That includes crazy, insane interpretations by mentally sick people. In the last decades this illness became a fully developed epidemic which seems very contagious.
There are some vile statements in the Bible, as part of Christianity and as part of Judaism. People don't specifically pick them out to criticize, as they are interpreted differently by different members of the sects. Same with Islam. Many Muslims do not agree with the radical fundamental interpretation.
Religion is all about the people interpreting it--all religions. Many Muslims have condemned the interpretation by violent radicals. It's a little more complex than just condemning an entire religion the way some of our politicians and citizens have.
