What ever happened to the radical idea that a person should have committed a crime, been investigated, arrested, tried and found guilty before any of their rights are removed? How did we let a few bureaucrats determine that someone should not fly or buy a firearm on mere suspicion?
This sort of nonsense leads directly to the security state where individuals are always under suspicion and never considered innocent even if they have never committed a crime.
I consider controlling who can buy or own firearms tyrannical but I am far more concerned with our loss of our freedoms of speech, association or communications to a mob of faceless bureaucrats with secure databases. The Nazi political Police (GESTAPO) were bad enough with paper records and filing cabinets. A National Security State armed with computerized data bases could be far worse. Maybe they already are?
Not when a controversial twitter posts or lecture schedule are in some cases sufficient to end up on the no fly list. The government can theoretically add anyone to the list without due process.
"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."
That's because Bu$hco put him on it. I'm certain Turd Blossom thought it'd be hilarious
