Intellectual? SMH...

Again, you're a poster on a website. Why can't you grasp that?

Like I said, it got personal. The beef is with me not the message.

That's not true, there are charities in Texas that find homes for these refugees supported by the Texas HHSC.
Refugee Resettlement Program: Local Organizations Assisting Refugees

This was from back in November when Abbott threatened to sue the charities his own HHSC was supporting, maybe they should have sued themselves since up to that point they were assisting these them.

DALLAS (CN) - Texas has threatened to kill funding and sue social services organizations if they defy Gov. Greg Abbott’s refusal to accept Syrian refugees — an order Abbott issued without the legal power to do so.
Chris Traylor, executive commissioner of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, issued the threat in a Nov. 25 letter to the International Rescue Committee in Dallas.

The OIRA was created by the Texas Legislature in 1991 to distribute federal funds available through the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 and the Refugee Act of 1980.
They are not taking in any of Obamas Syrian placements.

Currently, eligible recipients under the refugee-funded programs include:
  • Entrants and parolees from Cuban and Haiti.
  • Special Immigrant Visa holders from Iraq & Afghanistan
  • Certified victims of severe forms of trafficking.
I bet Huffington Post was upset.

I guess he means it when he said no.
Doesn't look like he is caving on the matter any time soon, either.

I didn't say that they were taking in Syrian Refugees, just that Office of Immigration and Refugee Affairs’ (OIRA) which is under the Texas HHSC distributes funding to the varies charities and as you indicated have done so for decades. Now they are suing the same charities that they previously assist6ed, seems rather hypocritical to me. It was silly for Abbott to inject himself into immigration and particularly insulting to those good people at these charities.

Futile lawsuits seem to be Abbotts specialty.

I just bought a Traeger a couple weeks ago and tried brisket over the weekend-awesome! You boys and girls down in Texas know how to cook! Trout is so boring in comparison...

They need to go further than just cutting funding for groups that import unvetted refugees to the state. They need to hold members of those groups financially and legally responsible for criminal acts committed by their charges. Go after the pimps and the problem will go down.

I did not point a finger that direction. We are having a rational discussion about the issue, not what each other said.
