Given the latest terrorist attack at the heavily secured airport in Istanbul where at least one of the terrorists used a AK47 style assault weapon before being tackled and detonating his explosive suicide vest is Turkey talking banning guns?

I haven't heard anything that in the wake of a terrorist attack that the authorities are trying to ban guns from the law abiding citizens of that land like they are in America.

Turkey is a stepping stone between the terrorist countries and the european union so I wonder what their stance is on guns. Do they know that there is no banning them and if they do that only the bad guys will have guns.

It seems like such a reacuring theme in America like a knee jerk reaction that when we have a mass shooting the powers that be blame the guns and not the people who actually pulled the trigger.

Is Turkey the same way?

Is Turkey now talking gun bans?
Gun ownership is rare in Turkey, and you can't buy them without jumping through the hoops, so I doubt they are having the same conversation. The fully-auto AK-47 which they used at the airport was probably smuggled in from Syria.

In Finland they did have the conversation after they had two school shootings.

Why would we blame the people? That's just plain stupid.
