Biden and the Dems are on CNN saying police have to go back to "Community Policing". What!!!??? THATS the problem. ...society now expects cops to solve every problem in society. They expect cops to be perfect in all areas.....patience, courage, skill, intellect, kindness, perseverance, humility, fitness. And any cop that expresses one of these will be criticized for NOT BEING the opposite. Example....a fat cop is criticized and they say he can't catch anyone and shouldn't be a cop. A very fit cop is called a "roid head with a Marine hair cut". A very smart cop is accused of being on a power trip and being arrogant. A dumb one of being incompetent. A lazy cop does too little. An active one too much. Q cold cop is a Nazi. A compassionate one a "p***y".
No matter what they do....they can't win.
We tried community policing. We've kissed some communities asses for 2 decades. We tried the "Hug A Thug" approach.
They have tried this with teachers, how's this working for us? I wonder why people don't feel they can handle their own lives and disputes.
We are asking our police to do to much domestic issues. Along with acting like our children are darlings. I don't know how many women I hear call their young men babies and men all have a princess for a daughter.

Teachers....wow...you guys have it as bad or worse than cops. It's Mission Impossible.
People won't accept these HARD TRUTHS that have been true for thousands of years:
1. SOMEONE will be in charge. Government. Religious authority. Criminals. Pick 1 of 3 because every human society in history has 1 of those 3 rule it.
2. Some humans are simply soulless violent orgamisms. NO program or de-escalation plan will work.
3. If we choose government to be in charge then laws must be enforced. Men and women will have to do this. Hundreds of thousands of them. Some will cross the line.
4. Life isn't fair.

If they are not harming anyone and have not taken what is not theirs, quit being a bully, to show the power trip mode.
A War has been created by all the oppressive "laws", that take free peoples liberty. Those that do not consent, are bullied into complying.
No one likes a bully and everyone is taught a different method, how to deal with bullies.

You didnt define community policing in your post.
What Biden and others mean when they say that, is having officers assigned to a specific area and working it everyday.
We have not been doing that. Only a few large cities have chosen to have that approach.

As I see it, the only thing for cops to do at this point is not to enforce the laws. People just do not want to be held accountable for their actions...and that's exactly what this boils down to.
The guy in Baton Rouge? The cops should have just walked the other way, and allowed him to continue menacing people with a gun and selling illegal CDs. That way, there would have been no confrontation, that would have led to the cops being physical with him, which would have led to him reaching for his gun and thereby giving the officer's the leeway to use lethal force.
Had they just gone the other way--none of this would have happened. There, problem solved. No one gets shot, no allegations of racism, no hyped up community activists...everyone is happy.
There's no amount of "community policing" that is going to replace the arrest of an individual committing a crime.
There is no talking it out--either you broke the law or you didn't and for that reason, you are arrested or you aren't.
Cops in these instances will just have to look the other way because there is no other way to avoid a confrontation other than not to confront them at all.
