Since the Progressive Era, both parties have been meddling with the US. Constitution.

The words of the Constitution have changed, without it being rewritten by progressive legislation and a stacked supreme court that has turned the constitution into what they think it should say, but clearly does not, so progressive legislation altering the US Constitution stands today and the reason the need for the ramped up POLICE STATE that is building and building. When liberty is being strangled, those doing the strangling must get stronger than those they strangle.
Trump is running on a law and order slogan. He has promised to give Police forces more stuff to do their jobs.

Then again, it's an election year, and nominees tend to pander and make endless promises.

Congress controls the purse strings.

Yep Clinton asked for deregulation and the Republicans were more than happy to give it to him.

Clinton urged Democrats to vote for it and was "proud" to sign it into law.

The massive, centuries-old world banking families will never allow this to happen. They might allow some legislation to pass so that it looks like sabers are being rattled and "bygod, things are getting done!"

But the truth is, the banks own DC and all the politicians in it, just like they own us. They are our OWNERS. They might toss us a dog scrap now and then or let the illusion of something mobilizing like this come down the pike, but in reality, nothing is really going to change.

This is nothing but empty rhetoric and pandering. Both parties are equally guilty of this. The GOP specifically touts "small government (total BS, of course) and anti- or de-regulation" all the time. It's one of their chief selling points to their constituency/fan base.

Now all of a sudden they are leading the charge to "clean up these Wall Street abuses of power!" and so on? Nonsense.

Just like so many empty promises made by people on the other side of the aisle. Just rallying cries to stir up emotions. It's meaningless.

Anyone falling for this is too feeble-minded to enter a ballot booth.

That's an illusion. This has been less and less true over the past 3-4 decades in particular.

Congress not only doesn't hold the purse strings, they don't even legislate.

That's done by those who OWN Congress--heads of global banks and energy concerns, defense contractors, multinational CEOs, lobbyists, etc.

This is why no rational person should ever vote for a Democrat OR Republican for any national office.

Oh don't worry, right wingers on this site are saying the Republicans are now all behind Warren on this one, so I am sure if we go out and elect as my Republicans that we can, that they will all do what Warren has been trying to do and help her break up the big banks.

Well it seems some folks are still stuck in the 50s and 60s geopolitical world. Trump is convincing the gullible that life is possible again.

Just continue to ignore that the Democratic Party is just as guilty, and in some ways more guilty, than the Republicans. Just continue to ignore the actual words and deeds of leaders like Bill Clinton. Just continue being a Democratic partisan cheerleader, because that is how you keep your team in power.

Our country is in dire straights due to partisans (on both sides) who ignore what the government is doing and only spew party rhetoric.

"There is no way I'll hold that politician accountable, because they are on my team."

This just makes me sick.

And Bush was happy to keep it in place because he was already dealing with the dot.com bubble that started popping as Clinton was leaving office. Then when housing blew up....it was all Bush's fault lmao....even though it was a bi-partisan effort.

Neither party cares about the little guy other than when they have to fool them into voting for them over empty promises and rhetoric that it was the OTHER guys that made the mess.
