I'm rather wondering which political event of the previous day will be covered over with this incident.
That is an awful thought, isn't it? The local media is being pretty mum about this event, but it seems that NBC has already decided it's not an act of terrorism. But then, according to the news media, in keeping with the philosophy of the current administration, it never is.
It's a tragedy in any event, and my thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their loved ones.

The statutory definition of domestic terrorism has changed many times over the years. What seems to differentiate domestic terrorism vs mass murder, is intent- a political purpose.
Gang violence tends to be trade related, territory disputes or honor killings.
Used to be that LE had a shot at brokering peace between rival gangs when working with leaders. Those days are gone. The gangs have splintered into thousands of factions with different leaders. No one is in charge.
