Washington Mayancela decided he wanted his life to be degree free.

Mayancela, 20, decided two years ago to start his apprenticeship as a steamfitter.

The Staten Island native graduated with his Advanced Regents diploma, a GPA of 4.0, and in the top five at Staten Island’s Ralph R. McKee Career & Technical Education High School. The best colleges came knocking with scholarships. But Mayancela had other plans.

Mayancela’s pay after his two-year apprenticeship as a unionized steamfitter in New York City will be $110 an hour.

Why millennials are forgoing college for blue-collar jobs | New York Post

It is amazing to me that the Left pushes young people into $50,000 college debt with worthless degrees and dead end jobs folding jeans. They tell them college grads are preferable to blue collar, dumb, clueless hicks with only high school degrees.

Why do elitists Leftists lie to these kids?

Maybe because they are the most difficult demographic for them to control? Sorta like evangelicals.

Who's lying? Go get you one of them 110 dollar an hour UNION jobs! They're everywhere, and you should believe the guy with the orange hair when he tells you you'll get one too, right after you vote for him!

I tell you what: if DT is the start of the RE-UNIONIZATION of America, then two things are true: I'll vote for him and I'll eat my hat!

This is a very insightful post, and dead on.

The dems won't even admit that many working class Democrats are now voting Trump.

Yet another thread whose premise killed any meaningful discussion before it started. FYI, apprenticeships (not of the reality show variety) are education. What's not a lie is the days of getting a middle-class job straight out of high school with no follow-up education are long gone.
And yeah, Democrats support unionized jobs like one you referenced, while Republicans want to kill them so you have the "right to work" (for slave wages).

The Left wants college kids to be heavily indoctrinated for several years by Leftist professors, in my opinion, so they push them into college.

These college grads come out of school saddled with debt, beholding to the government for bail outs for these oppressive student loans, and angry about their lack of job prospects, but obedient little Maoists.

Then Progressives have the gall to tell college grads they are superior to non-college grads with blue collar, well paying jobs because they are a college grad and have a piece of paper that cost 'em $50,000.

Leftists prefer no collar, uneducated people who need them for their votes.

Yep.

And when I read the OP's question I had a somewhat similar reaction......because they won't be dependent on the government.

First. There is no true "Left" in the USA. A true Leftist could never support a politician like Hillary Clinton.

But those who call themselves "leftists/progressive/liberal" demonize anyone who doesn't see their way.

Typical argument always include some sort of insult. It's demonstrated here everyday.
