Yes, all drugs should be decriminalized. We shouldn't waste taxpayer money for police to stop a few morons from killing themselves. Legalize it all-problem will sort itself out.
Yes, absolutely. The war against drugs has been an epic failure that has caused literally millions of deaths and immeasurable suffering. The government doesn't need to tell anyone what they can and can not do with their body. We don't tell people that they can't stuff their fat faces with donuts or pizza, why should heroin be different? It is much, much safer to give someone a controlled and regulated amount of a product that is produced according to GMP standards than some crap a junkie on the street is making by extracting garbage with gasoline. Everyone who supports the war on drugs is directly responsible for horrific suffering such as this:

As for me, I am tempted to vote Yes since I think that, even for the extremely dangerous drugs, we should go after the producers (by prosecuting them, obviously) while providing help and treatment--rather than jail time--to the consumers.
Indeed, any thoughts on this?
As a conservative, I vote "yes", but with the following caveat. Abusers or those addicted cannot run to the government for assistance if they can't find employment to support themselves.
Every human being has a natural right to any human action which is not an initiation of force upon another. Any "law" which restricts these natural freedoms is a crime by government against humanity.
It is no more "just" to make drugs illegal then it is to make green beans illegal.
IF someone causes harm or initiates force upon another, THEN the State (or the victim of aggression) can use just retaliatory force...otherwise it is none of government's (or anyone's) business. No person, group, or government has a right to initiate force, violence, aggression, coercion upon any person, group, or government for any reason.
Yes, all drugs should be legalized and regulated the same way as alcohol. Alcohol is one of the most dangerous addictive drugs out there, leading to countless crimes, and yet it is somehow considered to be less harmful than marijuana? Even hard drugs like heroin and cocaine should be legalized, because the vast majority of crime and negative outcomes from addiction to these drugs is due to their criminalization. That is not to say that these drugs do not have negative effects on their own, but they are dramatically worsened by criminalization. Legalization would reduce these negative outcomes, reduce crime dramatically, save money, respect peoples' right to choose what they wish to put in their own bodies, and allow for far more treatment options as a tiny fraction of what is currently spent on drug enforcement would pay for every addict in the world to receive world-class treatment. Furthermore, contrary to popular belief, studies show that the vast majority of people who use illegal drugs, including addictive drugs, do not abuse those drugs or display problematic behaviour because of their use. One only has to look to countries like Portugal, where hard drugs have been decriminalized to see the positive effects this has had on crime and addiction rates.
