The state of California proves this. It is a liberal bastion while boasting the largest income gap of any state and has the highest rate of poverty at 24%. Half of households in Los Angeles cannot afford "basic services." When will they learn that entitlement programs plus open borders is nothing but a POVERTY IMPORTATION PROGRAM? With all the progressive programs, most people should be thriving. But no--you'll never get ahead of the problem if you flood the system with more and more people who need to be bankrolled by a shrinking middle class.
