Who does the government count as 'employed'? - Business - Answer Desk | NBC News

In the 1980s, members of the armed services were included in the numbers based on the recommendation of a presidential commission.
Considering the draft ended in 1973 it's too bad that Nixon, Ford or Carter didn't think to do it first.

Yep, which is not nearly as bad as ignoring all the people who gave up looking for a job or work 10 hours a week in a minimum wage job since they cannot find decent employment.

I am opposed to accepting further refugees from anywhere.

Having said this I am aware each Presidential administration determines an annual quota for refugees and source regions. The current number is a fraction of what it was at peak in the 80's. Congress controls the purse strings.

As for illegal immigrants, Trump has been walking back his sensational stance he used to get attention during the primaries. He has since referred to Obama as the Deportation Chief. He has made it clear he will be more compassionate. Trump wants to make it easier for foreigners to legally work in the US.

I am not voting for Trump or Hillary.

According to Trump this is true.

Despite the blah- blah of the primary , Trump has made it clear he will be more compassionate than Obama and he favors making it easier for foreigners to legally work in the US.

No shortage of US people who choose to blame instead of taking responsibility for themselves. It's non- partisan and crosses race/ ethnicity.

or better yet, why dont you watch the 60 minutes episode of all the southern whites who live on disability.

when they get there check at the beginning of the month, the walmart is like an amusement park.

those whites vote republican, white males at over 80 percent.

the only people who bring up plantation stuff with blacks are white males like yourself. and then with your reasoning trying to pretend like you arn't on the same imaginary plantation.
Here's the brief transcript of that 60 Minutes segment, " Disability USA 2013" - The Disability Industrial Complex.

The economies in parts of Kentucky and West Virginia are entirely dependent upon Disability benefits.
Disability lawyers have been flooding the system with cases that should not be there.

Comment within the link about how if more people understood what was going on, half would be outraged and the other half would be motivated to apply.

To actually go and attend a Town Hall meeting or even a public meeting with the Black community, would be the next step to continue the trend of more Blacks leaving Hillary and just another 4 years of Obama.

Trump in effect must go where not too many non-democrat politicians have gone before. In many ways , it must be said, Trump by talking about the economy, education and immigration, is speaking to the choir in the Black community. He just needs to show he is serious and more serious than other politicians have been in the past.

Black people need to hear that commitment. They are sick and tired of being treated like a voting commodity and not human beings.
Much ado was made about Trump going to Mikwaukee during the riots.
Reality was he chose to bypass Mikwaukee and instead went to a white suburb, addressed a white audience and from there attempted to make the case that black people have nothing to lose by voting for him.

It does not ring true.

Many people seem challenged to differentiate between 1 and some and some and all. It's a cognitive thing.
