Native Americans certainly resent all the unauthorized immigration.
and what laws did the indians have against immigration back in the 1600's? what laws were broken by european immigrants? remember the indians back then were a multitude of nations, not one congruent unified nation. some were accepting of europeans, some were not.
In essence, no it is not racist. However some of the comments that come from those against amnesty and support building giant walls on the border are absolutely racist. Correlation does not equal causation, and I do believe that if the influx of immigrants were not Mexicans but rather Canadians the topic would be discussed very differently and I doubt so many people would be adamantly against illegal immigration.
I do believe racism is *one* of the big reasons why immigration is a heated topic today, as it always has been with immigration (remember the Irish and Italians anyone?) but it is not ALWAYS why people are for building walls.
It's sort of like the "a square is a rectangle, but a rectangle is not a square" mentality. A racist would be against immigration, but someone against immigration isn't a racist.

I suggest you don't pull the race card in this issue. Most anti-illegal immigrationists don't care what race an illegal is they just want them all out of here. It would be no different if these were mostly Canadians either so put your race card back in your wallet.
