You bet there is. Stuff you would never imagine the public owns. Also, almost every gun owner has more than one gun, and more than enough to arm his entire household.

And how many people die every day because guns were so handy when a really mundane argument came up? How many die because a child picked up a gun that was just too available? How many die because someone bought a gun when he really really shouldn't have owned one?

In Washington state recently we had a kid who broke up with his girlfriend and she moved on. He regretted it, bought a gun - which he commented was really really easy to buy and killed her and two other friends at a party along with injuring another. For every story you cite of a good result, there are many multiples of bad results. But guns are a choice you make and nothing stops you from having them, especially in Texas where guns are practically worshipped.

When seconds count, the cops are only a few minutes away.
56% of the population still relies on guns to protect them, they just want someone else to do the gun holding for them. When a person kicks in a door and the homeowner calls 911 they aren't calling because the phone call will save them, they call because they know the police will come and the police have guns.

Hahaha, you people crack me up. I guarantee the majority of the gun fondling posters on here live in the 'burbs or in hickville. Hardly the mecca of those "scary criminal thugs". Try living or working in a CITY, then you can post about that "criminal" element that is so prevalent in your scary world.

No one really knows, unless you go in and look, and we know that's not going to fly.

Want to compare the number of people murdered by their one governments that had no means to defend themselves?

Because it is a right to own, or not own. The choice to decide to exercise that right always beats gov mandate.

It's as reliable as the OP's source, which is what the OP is using. Do they know? Did they go in people's houses? Different parts of the country are more obsessed with guns than others.

If you are always armed and ready to shoot at the government you elect, then that is a choice you make. Maybe that should be the NRA's motto, "We know a thousands of people are needlessly killed, but look at all the people that can now shoot at their elected government! The government wants your guns so please buy 50 of them because we are paid by the gun manufacturers!"

Yeah, and here we have that right. Since forever. Yet here you people are, wringing your hands that "it's gonna happen". I'm still waiting.
