I am not in support of Trump. However, the Daily Mail is known for this kind of thing, so this comes as no surprise. If she wins, so be it.

Trump has smeared the wives and spouses of his opponents. Melania is a third trophy wife with a questionable immigration background that doesn't even rate high enough to be individually named on the Trump campaign NDA. Beyond that, how many times have Republicans and the right wing media sunk to new depths with Michelle Obama?

So true. Sensational headlines often do not match the carefully crafted content that relies on hear say and speculation.

People believe anything when it appears to validate their perceptions.

Suing the blogger will go nowhere. She is a public figure. One can say anything about a public figure.

If suing resolved a big mouth, Rosie could have sued Trump.

Even if she was a sex worker, so what? Is the general mindset really that primitive that it'd be a big deal?

from what i read, in the british court the burden of proof is on the newspaper to prove it isn't libelous ( as opposed to US where the burden is on the plaintiff to prove it is ). even tho the paper was just reporting what another paper had printed i believe, under british law, the paper has a responsibility to do it's own work in researching the validity of the claim.

don't know, not an expert but..... it will be interesting to see the outcome.

P.S. I actually hate trump more than Clinton....but I hate people playing with numbers dishonestly even more.

Perhaps at the same time she could discuss whether she lied about her college degree, whether she lied about her writing her convection speech, whether she lied about what year she came to the USA and when she first met Don. As long as she is having a press conference she could lie about her career as an escort.
See, that's the problem here. When she's deposed for this suit, those questions will be asked, and she's going to have to give truthful answers. Her background is discoverable information, and if she lies to those direct questions, that's perjury.

It's going to be very interesting to see how this whole thing plays out. It might turn out that they would have been better off leaving this one alone.
