He used lazy twice:

First instance with context:
And I believe that the United States is and can be a great force for good in the world. But because we're such a big country, we haven't always had to know about other parts of the world. If you are in Laos, you need to know about Thailand and China and Cambodia, because you're a small country and they’re right next door and you need to know who they are. If you you're in the United States, sometimes you can feel lazy and think we're so big we don't have to really know anything about other people.

Second instance:

And so part of the thing for young people like you, whether you’re in government or an NGO, you’re going to have to learn the best practices so that you can still grow, but you do so in a way that can be sustained over a long period of time. And look, the United States is still learning how to do this, and we’ve been at it a long time. But we used to have terrible pollution everywhere. And we ultimately passed laws like the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act, and what we discovered was when you set rules to preserve the environment, that companies will adjust, and they’ll find new and innovative ways to make the same products and make the same amount of money, but do it in a way that actually is good for the environment.

So usually, if you see the environment destroyed, it’s not because that’s necessary for development. It’s usually because we’re being lazy, and we’re not being as creative as we could be about how to do it in a smarter, sustainable way.

No Obama lover here. Dislike him. But the above is not derogatory towards the USA.

Of course a better word than lazy could have been selected. Perhaps it was chose due to is simplicity in addressing a foreign audience.

He is correct,

Most government workers are extremely lazy .

Its the private sector that creates the wealth here in America.

Government only makes Debt and war all over the world.

Time for mass layoffs in government

Make America great again.

Yes, his unstable and dysfunctional upbringing with an absentee father and a restless mother. He has always been searching. How does this translate into a strong leader of a powerful country I don't know.

He certainly doesn't respect traditional middle America, (clinging to God and guns) like Kansas were his maternal grandparents who stepped up to plate for him were from.

Yes in a way, but he ALWAYS finds a way to interject a negative word in somewhere when describing the US or Americans.

He has no loyalty to this country. He is an absolute liberal brainfart.

In other words, he didn't say anything offensive & you know it but you can't admit that so you'll just "Obama sucks" your way through this thread.

Yes, Compared to a few generations ago, we are lazy, allot of the USA is.. Dont kid yourself.
Can you fish, change a tire, shoot a gun, cook from scratch, clean a bathroom, dial a phone number, read a paper book, run, jump, talk outside with your neighbor, play outside?

For the most part I agree with you, but addressing our problems with a foreign leader is not the proper forum.

I would hope the majority of our population could do the things you've listed.

Obama speaks the truth.

Please provide your argument in rebuttal of the points he made.

Thank you.

Obama has been the sharpest chisel used to divide the nation and make america look like bad to the rest of the world.

As these speeches are carefully crafted and Obama, the greatest orator that ever lived, indeed used 'lazy' as an intended slap to convey a 'slight' toward our country. The country michelle obama was just recently proud of and obama's pastor for 20 years GDammed. With that background it is not imagination that hears his words as offensive..it is a demonstrated pattern of hate perfectly in line with rev wrights church of racism and hate .

If obama spoke at rev wright's church his laotian speech would not appear offensive to America.

History will not be kind to obama as obama has not been kind to america.
