Finally, some saw the light instead of the 'herd' mentality.

Teacher unions smarting after many members vote for Trump

Quote:
Two weeks after Republican Donald Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton in the Nov. 8 presidential election, the USA’s teachers unions are wondering what happened to their chosen candidate — and how so many of their members could have voted for her opponent.

Despite early and eager endorsements of Clinton by both unions, the nation’s school teachers and other school workers contributed substantially to Trump’s Nov. 8 win.

How substantially? About one in five American Federation of Teachers (AFT) members who cast a ballot voted for Trump, the union’s leader estimated. Among the larger National Education Association (NEA), which comprises more than 3 million members, more than one in three who voted did so for the billionaire developer, early data show.

This happens with many unions. Some of the members don't get it until their own paychecks get slashed. We've seen it in Wisconsin with union members voting for Scott Walker.

Perhaps they voted for him because they knew it was the right thing to do. They weren't trying to vote themselves more or less money. They were voting for what they thought was constitutionally, morally, and ethically right for the country. Not all people vote just to add more money to their paycheck.

Perhaps their vote for Trump was actually really a vote against Hillary. Not everyone is happy with the direction the country has taken under Obama and Hillary was sure to continue down that path so they voted for change.
Common Core.. English speaking citizen students being held back by illegal immigrant kids... Funding going to bring the kids of illegal aliens up to speed.... There are many things that are not as popular on the ground in real life as the Dems tell us they are.

It is simple as that.

Trump is prepared to eliminate overtime pay for 20 million Trump supporters and unions will be attacked relentlessly by Ryan and McConnell as they continue to choke the working class on behalf of the oligarchs they serve.

Meanwhile, Sanders will introduce legislation making it easier to unionize and the working class is crying for relief from the choking by the oligarchs but the working class is still scurrying around, unsure what to do.

And those Trump supporters who are also union members deserve EVERYTHING that is about to happen at the hands of Trump.

Trump hates unions and will do his best to dismantle them brick by brick.

Unions were forced on teachers, for the most part. At their core, most teachers simply want to teach, and those are the teachers who are good for America.

The ones that just want an early retirement should find another profession.

I certainly hope so.

Trump voter here.

The status quo is not working, but those that have been beneficiaries from the current system are blind.
