The student body and faculty at America's top colleges and universities tend to be liberal. Why is that? Also, what is the most highly regarded and competitive conservative college/university in America?

Simple. The media, academics, and entertainers are all insulated from real life due to their cushy jobs. Professors, if they have tenure, cannot even be fired!

The faculty because they tend to be more intellectual, and the students are there for an education, which is often very enlightening.
