Ehm, if 95% own half of all guns, the remaining 5% will own the other half. In other words, you're kinda making the survey's point. Is that what you intended?
You right, 95% of the populations in rural America own guns. Does that mean they are saying 6% own all the guns?
A better statistic to determine gun ownership, would have been the number of hunting licenses issued. Then add 50-100 million that just own a handgun.

I'm not sure about 95% of the population, but I would think it's at least 90% of rural HOUSEHOLDS. But each of those may only have one person that is the actual owner. I also question the statement that only 22-25% of the population owns a firearm. Seems awfully low given people I know personally. Of course "population" includes children, adults in nursing/retirement homes and adults unable to legally own firearms (drug users, including pot, felons, mentally ill (adjudicated mentally incompetent)). Most people who commit murders, it turns out, are generally not gun collectors. People who amass guns as an arsenal as opposed to a collection are obviously worthy of watching, but they are exceedingly rare.

Several of my firearms were made in the 1910's and a few from the 1940's & 50's. None have a serial number on them anywhere. It is/was unconstitutional, to serial number a weapon as a means government could use to create a confiscation registry.
This is just one more cog in the anti-gun propaganda machine intended to convince everyone that those who don't own a gun are the "normal" ones, and those who do are part of a fringe minority, and so, you shouldn't want to own one either.
Same type of brainwashing method they've used to effectively change the public attitude on smoking since the 60's.

First off, who tells random strangers how many firearms they have? Gold bars? Cash in the safe?
My most favorite handgun, even if the safety is backward . Of course, that makes me want a CX-4.
