Yes, very few people are convicted of voter fraud. But like some other crimes such as speeding, only a tiny fraction of those breaking the law are ever convicted or even charged.
------------------------
At least 86 non-citizens have been registered voters in Philadelphia since 2013, and almost half — 40 — even voted in at least one recent election, according to a legal group that sued to get voter registration records.

Joseph Vanderhulst, an attorney with the Public Interest Legal Foundation, noted Philadelphia knows about those 86 illegal voters only because officials received specific requests — in almost every case from the voters themselves — to remove the names from the rolls. He said there is no way to know how many non-citizens might be registered to vote in Philadelphia, let alone in the rest of politically crucial Pennsylvania.

Research by the law firm also indicated that Philadelphia makes no effort to proactively remove non-citizens or incarcerated felons, who also are ineligible to vote under Pennsylvania law.

If those groups overwhelmingly voted Republican, Democrats would change their tune about voter ID and fraud so fast that it would make your head spin.

As I understand it, proof of citizenship is not required for voter registration.

Every amendment in the constitution concerning voting rights, clearly says, Citizen.
Unlike the 2nd, that clearly says, People.

Yet we must prove citizenship to buy a gun when citizenship isn't a requirement, but not to vote, where citizenship is a requirement???? And voting is way more dangerous than any gun.

Conservatives have already implemented poll taxes once, we're not going to let that happen again. The best indication of what future intentions are is an examination of the past. Conservatives don't have a good track record with voter suppression...

An ID for voting cost money. A poll tax...

Make it free, make it easily accessible, make it standardized across the states, then lets talk...

What I want is anyone who thinks this way to get booted right out of this country.

I can see that happening. "Costs money for an ID"

I don't want anyone in this country who is so stupid that they cannot scratch enough money together to have an ID.

We really need to raise the standards.
