Clinton Foundation had so much success in Haiti, they are ready for a second round. Even while she is campaigning for president - they could not let this opportunity go by. See the Clinton Foundation home page.

How the Clinton Foundation Got Rich off Poor Haitians

Unhappy anniversary

In 2013 the Washington-based Centre for Economic and Policy Research calculated that only 0.7% of more than $2 billion of planned spending by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) had gone to Haitian institutions since the quake. Most had gone to contractors in and around Washington.

Haiti has been and remains one cluster fudge of a country.

It was " discovered and initially settled by the Christopher Columbus gang in the late 1400's. They wasted no time exterminating the native population. The Dutch and then France got into the act. Then came hundreds of thousands of slaves. The atrocities against slaves made ISIS look like child's play.

Revolutions, so called royal families, coupes, dictators, civil wars and more dictators have kept Haiti in a state of perpetual political turmoil. Unlike the Dominican Republic which shares the island of Hispanola, Haiti has no tourism industry, let alone the sex tourism the DR is known for.

Life in Haiti sucked for the common man before the earthquake. Then disaster struck. There was a massive international relief effort that over promised.

The Red Cross cut their ties with Haiti early on given the political turmoil. Instead, the Red Cross chose to put non earmarked donations into their general fund to use as they see fit. This infuriated millions of ordinary donors who thought their donations were going to Hatian relief. Some media chose to portray this as corruption within the Red Cross.

Contrary to the stuff in the link, the USAID is an independent agency, not under the authority of the State Department. The UN and USAID led an international relief effort and stationed foreign troops in Haiti for peace keeping missions and to protect foreign investments. Soldiers from Nepal, of all places, arrived with Cholera. Their waste was dumped in rivers, the source of drinking water. An unprecedented Cholera epidemic broke out. Reportedly, it will take 40 years to wipe out Cholera in Haiti- maybe longer given the current hurricane.

WHO got involved. Big international donors to WHO donate with stipulations how funds will be used.

USAID is funded by various governments. Many of those governments insisted on using their own workers and materials, instead of local resources. Those countries charged their costs to the USAID to offset their donations.

And in the middle of it all is the Clinton Foundation with Bill doing the hope and change thing. This foundation accepts donations for humanitarian purposes. Big $ donations often come with strings attached, restrictions. This is true for the Red Cross, United Way and most humanitarian organizations. One of those donors was Clayton Manufacturing which was being sued by FEMA for inferior temporary mobile homes in connection to the Katrina relief thing. Obviously they had a surplus of defective manufactured housing they were looking to unload for use as temporary housing in Haiti.

Never mind that these structures were a step up for the masses in terms of housing that existed before the earthquake. The people complained about it and especially the lack of AC.

Prior to this week's huuicane, infrastructure and life had returned to the deplorable pre earthquake conditions.

There are many sides to the disaster known as Haiti. Believe them all. No good deed ever goes unpunished.

Yes..great synopsis. Haiti is a sinkhole--with enough blame to go around for everyone.

Exclamation Disgusting and exactly why we need to clean house!

This kind of activity is so disgusting and so abuse of power/position and to be honest an abuse of the American public not to mention tarnishing our nation.
I'm pointing these accusations at any politician or public servant, I just want to make that clear.

It's my understanding this upset people in Haiti so much that one/some went to court. Can anyone imagine what all these people are now saying about our "generosity" as a nation?
Are we REALLY going to turn the keys to our nation over to someone who partakes in this kind of activity and then give them a higher post with absolute power to enrich even MORE of her "friends"?

This was a massive international humanitarian relief effort, not just the US.

Unlike all the other countries that engaged in the relief effort, the US has a substantial and vocal Haitian population.

Most countries have statutory requirements that only their products and people can engage in relief.

The population of Haiti is about 10 million.

Obviously Bill Clinton is a competent fund raiser and sold his vision on what Haiti could be, if only...., if only.

About 315,000 died in the earthquake. The after shocks, destroyed infrastructure, collapsed buildings, no electricity, no sanitation, the loss of the seaport and portions of their airport, civil unrest, violence, looting and more combined with chronic political turmoil created an impossible challenge. Then came the Cholera epidemic introduced by Nepal soldiers, a part of the peacekeeping meeting.

There are reasons why the Red Cross and their funding pulled out and it has nothing to do with the Clintons.

Then the elected dictator declined food/ water donations , citing it was better for the people to rely on themselves instead of handouts.

Haiti has been , is and will likely remain a hell hole.

Haitian Blacks are not going to be tricked by the fraud Hillary Clinton.

American Blacks on the other hand will be milked again and again by Hillary at the ballot box.

I can't link to it now, but there was a nice hospital that was built. I looked at the list of donors... no mention of the Clinton Foundation.

I don't think the Clinton Foundation ever committed to funding a hospital nor did they take credit for doing so.

One hospital in Port- AU- Prince was funded by the US, France and Haiti via loans.

The University Hosptal has a international roster of donors and may be what you recall.
