The **** do "we" need to forgive Bill for? His getting his penis sucked before his 2:30 doesn't effect any of us. The only person who needs to forgive Bill for that is Hillary, and I sincerely doubt she gives a ****. She's probably been plowed by guys other than Bill. I'm not saying they don't care about each other, but maybe they just don't care if they're totally sexually monogamous. It's their marriage, so as it turns out, no one else's opinion is even slightly relevant.

As for Trump's comments, I don't care. Him being a giant douche isn't news to me. This is just a particularly sexist example, but it's not like this alters his pristine image. What he said wasn't particularly shocking. I've known men who have said similar things to him; far worse actually. Trump says Bill Clinton has said similar things, and frankly, I totally believe him. This alone does not effect my decision to not vote for him. It's the combination of his complete lack of experience and an absence of any presidential qualities he has that make me feel he's unfit to be president.

As for this topic, yes, the average American voter is an idiot. This ranges from the people who think a formerly apolitical democrat businessman is "speaking his mind" and will "get stuff done" to the people who think the Clinton campaign hasn't been sitting on this particularly nasty video for months. The media is trash. People can say it's all pro-Hillary, but let's get one thing perfectly clear: if not for the media, Donald Trump would not be the Republican nominee. He played them. He knew how the media operated which is why this man who, again, was apolitical and generally just some businessman for most of his life, suddenly shows up as this over the top, America **** yeah type. It's exciting and controversial. He's not presidential at all. But he generates views for CNN and Fox and others so that's what's shown. There's a damn near perfect correlation between amount of news coverage and how well each candidate did in the polls. Trump's not an idiot. This over the top character he's playing was made entirely to get media coverage because that's all he needed. Name recognition. His pseudo criticisms of the media don't impress me. He, like most, are critical of all the wrong things and they do so entirely for political reasons. People who want honest coverage aren't bitching about it being liberal; they're pissed at the theatrics of it all. But the Donald can't say that because this dismantles his candidacy and he knows it. Luckily for him (and unluckily for the rest of us) his voters likely don't understand this and while aggressively stick to the "liberal media" criticism, which any person with the capacity to think knows that this is not the root of the problem.

The Republicans absorbed the Wallace Democrats. It bit their ass this year.

Occasionally I put my tinfoil hat on and wonder if Trump did all this just to get Hillary elected.

The funny thing is that the title of the thread is "how stupid are the American people" and then the thread is nothing but wacky conspiracy theories by rabid Trumpites, blaming Hillary for Trump bragging about his sexual assaults.

Yes, the American people are largely stupid. Donald Trump as a major party candidate is Exhibit A. Voters trying to explain away his bragging about sexual assault is Exhibit B. Voters blaming Hillary Clinton for Donald Trump's sexual assault is Exhibit C.

I don't know how much of a conspiracy this actually is. It is technically not evidence based, but compared to things like the moon landing being hoax, it's not far from unreasonable in the slightest to suggest that the Clinton campaign has had that tape for at least a few months.

Now is the ideal time to destroy the Trump campaign after all. The election is a month away, and according to the rules of the GOP, the only way Trump's candidacy can end is by his choosing. There is no system in place to remove him from the ticket, unless he does it himself. There's also no easy way to get a new candidate. They'd basically have to have an emergency primary, which would either end in disaster or Mike Pence and let's be real, neither option is great at this point. Essentially, if Trump walks out, the election belongs to Hillary. She would go entirely uncontested as no other person would have the level of support needed to be a viable threat to her. And even if the GOP manages to get a replacement set up in time, there'd be little to no hype about this person. And the Trump supporters have no faith in the GOP; they believe in Trump. Essentially, he's the GOP's only option at this point of winning, and they aren't happy about it. Many prominent GOP members have withdrawn support for him. This means that if he were elected, he'd be powerless. If you want someone to change the system, he can't have 90% of the players in the system being his enemy and that's what we're looking at right now.

A maliciously calculated as Hillary's campaign is, one does have to just stand in awe of it's efficiency. Her approval rating is quite bad in the grande scheme of things and she's still doing extremely well running against the most anti-establishment person we've seen in a while in a time when the trust in the establishment seems to be in a perpetual downward spiral.

As for Hillary....... I don't know where to start. But at the very least, watching a candidate for the most powerful office in the world, being dragged into a vehicle, with her legs trailing is a sad sight.

I just don't get it....... what is wrong with your political system, that the best you can come up with is these two?

I thought we had some weird politics, but America takes the cake.

No offence - just sayin'.
Couldn't agree more.
It's America's Berlosconi phase.....?
